Member Connections

The FMC Members Email List is basically an email distribution list that provides a way of sending an email message to all those who have elected to be "on" the list.  The Members Email List is designed to work with the Phone Chain since some members do not have email.

In addition it allows the users to handle their own maintenance tasks such as adding and removing of your own email addresses.  The FMC members list is open for any attendee to join, however as a safety precaution, all subscribers are reviewed before being allowed on the list.  The email address you use to subscribe will not be available on the internet for any outside users to see.

Follow the simple steps below "How to Add My Email" to subscribe and get on the list.   You can also see "How to Remove My Email" to unsubscribe and get off the list.  As always, if you need any help email us at techsupport@frazermennonite.org   In addition you may want to read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section for more help.

Notification Method #1

In "non-urgent" cases you can send an email to the Members Email List and then only those who do not have email will need to be notified by telephone.  Please contact Lois Huston with your message to activate the limited telephone chain.

Notification Method #2 (for urgent messages)
We realize that everyone does not check email everyday.  If you have an urgent request that people may not receive in a timely manner by email, then activate the FULL telephone chain.  In addition, an email should also be sent to the Members Email List.  Please contact techsupport@frazermennonite if you are unable to send the email message yourself.

How to Send an Email to the Members List
To send an email to everyone on the FMC Members List, address it to
members@frazermennonite.org

There is 1 rule though....

You must be sending your email from an email account that is already subscribed to the list.
If you don't, then the message will be rejected.

After you send the message, check your own email to see if it has gone through.
 

How to Add My Email

1. Simply send an email to the following address:
      members-subscribe@frazermennonite.org

2. In a few minutes, you will receive an email with the subject line
    "confirm subscribe to members@frazermennonite.org"
     asking you to press the REPLY button in your email program and then SEND.
    YOU MUST DO THIS IN ORDER TO BE SUBSCRIBED TO THE LIST.

3. As a final confirmation, you will receive a WELCOME email.
 

How to Remove My Email

To remove an email address from the list, take the following steps:

1. Send and email to the following address:
    members-unsubscribe@frazermennonite.org

2. In a few minutes, you will receive an email with the subject line
    "confirm unsubscribe to members@frazermennonite.org"
     asking you to press the REPLY button in your email program and then SEND.
    YOU MUST DO THIS IN ORDER TO BE UNSUBSCRIBED TO THE LIST.

3. As a final confirmation, you will receive a GOODBYE email.
 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question:  How do I send a message to the email “members list?

Answer: Any list member may send a message to the entire email list by sending an email to

The email will appear to all list members from your email address.

Question:  Do I have to be on the list if I don’t want to?
Answer: Being included in the “FMC Members Email List” is voluntary.

Question:  Do I have to be a member of FMC to subscribe to the list?
Answer:  No

Question:  How do I find out who is on the list, who will get the emails?
Answer:  Since we don't publish the email list addresses on the web for privacy/abuse reasons, you can't find out.  We will publish occasionally the number of people who are subscribed.  The list is another means of communication and the list makes it easier to reach everyone at once.

Question:  What types of email information can I send? 
Answer: Prayer requests, updates on health, urgent announcements, last-minute or mid-week changes or additions to meeting times, etc.  Basically anything "church-related".  The email list is not to be used for jokes, political statements, personal advertising, "for sale" items, etc.

Question:  If I add my email address to this list, will hackers and spammers on the internet be able to get it?
Answer: No. This list is not accessible to anyone else on the internet and is controlled by Frazer Mennonite Church. Since only list members can send email to the “Members” List, the only risk of being spammed is from other people at Frazer Mennonite Church.

Question: If I opt in to the list, will I still get prayer chain messages?
Answer: If the requests are urgent, then the entire telephone chain will be used as well as the members email list.  If the request is for something several days in the future then the members email list only may be used along with a phone call to those who do not have email.

Question: How many email addresses can I add to the list?
Answer: You may subscribe as many email addresses or wireless text messaging devices (pagers & cell phones) as you wish.

Question: I would like to add another “List Group” with the committee members for the committee I serve on or my small group. Is that possible?
Answer: Yes. Contact

Question: Can I include attachments with my email?
Answer:  Yes.
